モンゴルを中心とした北~東アジアにて、
野草や薬草などの収穫で使われていた肩掛けバッグ。
詳しい年代判別が難しいのですが、1970年代前後もしくはもう少し古い物だと聞きました。
高密度で太さのある麻紐による編み生地に
恐らく漆だと思われる天然樹脂が塗られた、迫力のある生地感。
ずっしりとした重みのある鎧の様な佇まい。
現地でも滅多に見つからない物だそうで、こちらはその中でも特に大きいサイズだそうです。
漆の剥げと少しのぼろつきがあるため、ドレスシャツなどの綺麗な生地には中々お勧めできませんが、
古いウールやタフなコットン、気にせず洗える天然繊維等には相性も良く特におすすめです。
A shoulder bag used for harvesting wildflowers and medicinal herbs in North and East Asia, mainly Mongolia.
It's difficult to determine the exact year, but I've heard it's from around the 1970s or a little older.
The fabric is knitted from thick and dense hemp cord and coated with a natural resin, probably lacquer, giving it an impressive feel.
It looks like a heavy armor.
It is said to be something that is rarely found locally, and this one is said to be particularly large.
Due to the peeling of the lacquer and slight tatters, it is not recommended for beautiful fabrics such as dress shirts, but it is especially recommended for old wool, tough cotton, and natural fibers that can be easily washed.
